Cam Edwards of the Second Amendment Foundation sat down with the Bill McIntosh Show to talk a variety of Second Amendment topics including Texas as a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary state and pushing back on banks trying to impede gun industry transactions; recent hapless Colorado gun legislation and how the UN angles to exert gun control on America.
One topic, however, came up that was not directly related to the right to bear arms but shows the lengths to which the Feds, in this case the FBI, are willing to go to “get their man” or in this case men. This of course refers to the alleged Gov. Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot that was generously infiltrated by, if not also driven by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Cam Edwards shared some thoughts about this alleged plot:
“Basically this is a trial to uncover the kidnapping plot of Gretchen Whitmer but as we get closer to this trial date arriving, it looks more and more like the FBI was not only involved in surveilling some of these individuals, but may have been actually leading the way, may have been actually putting thoughts into the minds of some of these individuals who are now charged with plotting to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer. They were actually sort of spearheading this effort and so the attorneys for some of these guys have raised entrapment…if this does end up going to a jury, there’s a better than zero chance that this doesn’t end in a mistrial or possibly even in acquittal.” To this Bill McIntosh quipped: “Hey wouldn’t it be fun to see Michigan State Troopers arresting FBI Agents?”
According to Buzzfeed (hat tip here to Tom Knighton of Bearing Arms.com who wrote about this), Federal authorities documented at least TWELVE confidential informants involved with this alleged kidnapping case. Let that sink in. TWELVE. It’s like that old joke about the American Communist Party being in serious financial trouble were it not for FBI infiltration agents membership fees floating the left wing organization.
Buzzfeed is here quoted concerning this story published July 20th under the title WATCHING THE WATCHMEN:
” …some of those informants, acting under the direction of the FBI, played a far larger role than has previously been reported. Working in secret, they did more than just passively observe and report on the actions of the suspects. Instead, they had a hand in nearly every aspect of the alleged plot, starting with its inception. The extent of their involvement raises questions as to whether there would have even been a conspiracy without them.”
“A longtime government informant from Wisconsin, for example, helped organize a series of meetings around the country where many of the alleged plotters first met one another and the earliest notions of a plan took root, some of those people say. The Wisconsin informant even paid for some hotel rooms and food as an incentive to get people to come.”
Besides featuring lots of seeming FBI initiative in moving this kidnapping plot towards completion, the FBI has had some recent “you gotta be kidding me” public comeuppance that came up suddenly that fits the question in the Cam Edwards interview about seeing FBI officials arrested by state authorities.
Well it turns out that the very same FBI agent at the center of the case, (whose name we will not publish for the sake of his wife), who filed the October 6th, 2020 complaint in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids, that led to the arrest of six men on Federal charges in the alleged plot, was himself arrested and accused in July, 2021 of beating and choking his wife at their Kalamazoo-area home after allegedly going to a swingers party for some drinks which, to the wife’s credit, it appears she did not like attending and a heated argument ensued. At home she was allegedly assaulted, strangled and bloodied.
Quick thinking on the wife’s part came in handy, literally, and the FBI agent reportedly had the squeeze put on himno doubt leaving the FBI Special Agent, in a world of hurt and unlikely to swing for some time.
The former FBI Agent faces a charge of assault with intent to commit great-bodily harm less than murder, which is a 10-year felony. He was scheduled for trial in Kalamazoo County Circuit Court. Christopher Wray, esteemed FBI Director, is this “conspiracy to kidnap Gov. Whitmer” case solid or an acute embarrassment for the FBI?
Cam Edwards also discussed how the United Nations, like the un-invited camel sticking its nose into the tent, imposes itself on a nation’s sovereignty caring precious little that a UN Treaty, in this case the Arms Trade Treaty, like any other, requires a two-thirds vote in the United States Senate. The President “shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two-thirds of the Senators present concur” (Article II, section 2).
While President Biden can sign it the UN will try to hold us as a party to it any way. It may not pose a danger directly to gun owners, however it can be used to go after US Gun manufacturers as has been done to Mexican gun makers being sued by the Mexican government over drug cartel violence.
