Today, The Two Mikes again discussed the ongoing disintegration of effective U.S. foreign and military policies with Edward Hoagland and Colonel/Dr. Lawrence Sellin. The consensus among us was that the growing fecklessness of these U.S. policies has reached the point where there appears no genuine U.S. long-term strategy toward either the world as whole, or even one meant to be applied against America’s most dangerous enemies. Whether it is China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, or Russia and the Ukraine, the Biden administration is capable of no more than nearly always insignificant losing tactical operations.
Sending about 10,000 Marines and soldiers to Ukraine and several Eastern European NATO countries means only one thing; namely, these military men and women are forming what was called a “tripwire” during the Coldwar. That means only that they are there to die if Russia invades so their deaths can be used by the U.S. president to lead angry Americans into a war with Russia in which the U.S. has no genuine national security interests. This, of course, is testament to the insanity and cold-bloodedness of Biden, his advisers, and his generals.
Both Mr. Hoagland and Colonel Sellin assessed that the inability of the U.S. to form and stick to a strategy toward America’s major foes means that we will always be surprised by our foes because they are waging a strategy-guided cognitive war that stresses the acquisition of knowledge about what to expect in terms of American responses, and how those responses can be manipulated. Having that experience and knowledge under their belt, China and Russia will always remain several steps ahead of the actions America will take, none of which will be a complete surprise in Beijing or Moscow.
