In a recent episode of The Jeff Dornik Show, I had the privilege of joining Dr. Alan Keyes on Let’s Talk America, delving deep into the core concerns that weigh heavily on my mind about the current state of our beloved country. At the heart of it all, one principle stands tall and unwavering – the greatness of America is intricately tied to the greatness of our founding principles.
As we navigated through the complexities of the nation’s challenges, I couldn’t help but underscore the fundamental belief that America’s exceptionalism is rooted in principles that echo the very nature of Christian faith and our Almighty God. It’s a truth that seems to have been lost in the tumultuous sea of modern discourse.
Our conversation began with a foundational premise – each of us, as individuals, is created in the image of God. This profound truth, often overlooked in today’s discourse, serves as the bedrock for the inherent value that every American possesses. It is from this divine image that we derive certain inalienable rights, bestowed upon us by God and, crucially, impervious to government encroachment.
It is this departure from the core principle that has, in my view, led us to the challenging juncture we find ourselves facing today. As a nation, we have veered away from the essence of our founding principles, and the consequences are evident in the chaos that unfolds around us.
The notion that our rights are God-given and beyond the reach of government interference is not merely a philosophical stance but a guiding light that has defined the American experiment from its inception. The erosion of this principle, the neglect of the sacred bond between faith and governance, has sown discord and uncertainty in the fabric of our society.
It’s essential to acknowledge that the departure from our foundational principles is not a recent phenomenon but a gradual shift that has unfolded over time. Our nation’s journey has seen us stray from the principles that once united us, leaving a void that is now filled with division, mistrust, and a sense of unease.
In this episode, I sought to bring attention to the urgent need for a course correction. To retrace our steps back to the principles that, when adhered to, made America a beacon of hope and resilience. The conversation with Dr. Alan Keyes served as a rallying call to rediscover our roots, to reaffirm the values that make America truly exceptional.
In the face of contemporary challenges, let us not forget the timeless wisdom encapsulated in our founding principles. America’s greatness is not a bygone era; it’s a promise waiting to be realized through a collective commitment to the principles that define us. It is my hope that this conversation sparks a renewed sense of reflection and, ultimately, action to restore the greatness of America by returning to the principles that make us who we are.
I’ve released two books that discuss these ideas in great detail. The first is Social Injustice: Exposing the False Gospel of the Social Justice Movement and the other is Church & State: How the Left Used the Church to Conquer America. Click here to order both of these books.
