In a recent episode of The Jeff Dornik Show, I shared a personal insight that has guided my political journey: the importance of loyalty to principles over loyalty to individuals. As a Trump supporter since 2012, I emphasized the need for Americans to avoid blind loyalty to any single person, including former President Donald Trump.
My journey as a Trump supporter began in 2012 when I wished that Trump would have run for president instead of Mitt Romney. However, I am quick to clarify that my support for Trump does not equate to blind loyalty. Instead, I advocate for a focus on values and principles, which I believe are more enduring and reliable guides.
“Being loyal to a person can lead us astray, no matter who that person is,” I cautioned. “But if we hold fast to our principles, it’s much harder to be deceived.”
My message resonates with many Americans who have witnessed the rise of political tribalism and the dangers of personality-driven politics. I encourage my audience to remain vigilant and to prioritize their values over any individual, no matter how charismatic or influential they may seem.
The episode serves as a reminder that true leadership is not about following a single person, but about upholding timeless principles that transcend any individual or political party. As I aptly put it, “We should hold fast to our values and follow that wherever it leads.”
