In a recent episode of the Two Mikes podcast, co-hosted by Dr. Michael Scheuer and Col. Mike, the guest Khanverse shared insights on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. The focus was on the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, and Khanverse proposed two potential explanations for its success.
Firstly, Khanverse suggested that the attack’s success could be attributed to a significant intelligence failure within Israel’s renowned intelligence apparatus. Alternatively, he raised the possibility that Israeli leaders, including Netanyahu, may have intentionally allowed the Hamas attack to succeed. This strategic move could have been driven by confidence in the subsequent ability to launch a decisive invasion of Gaza, leading to the destruction of Hamas and the annexation of Palestinian territory rich in natural gas deposits.
The crucial point emphasized was that, regardless of which explanation held true, both scenarios provided Israel with an opportunity to achieve its long-desired goal of displacing Palestinians and seizing their land. The discussion highlighted the consequences of Israel’s worldview rooted in arrogance, coupled with a lack of awareness regarding changes in the Muslim world over the past three decades. These changes included advancements in high-tech military weaponry, enhanced multinational collaboration, and a growing global reluctance to unquestioningly support Israel.
The United States’ continued support of Israeli policies was portrayed as detrimental, contributing to the country’s isolation from a world increasingly critical of Israel’s actions. The podcast asserted that the U.S. government’s alignment with Israeli interests was alienating it from other nations, as the international community grew more aware of Israel’s strategies and less willing to comply.
The question posed was whether Israel had overplayed its hand. While the answer remains uncertain, the podcast suggested that if it had, the Muslim bloc facing Israel was more united and militarily capable than ever before. Additionally, the traditional support from the United States, referred to as Israel’s “automaton U.S. Daddy Warbucks,” was portrayed as weaker, potentially leaving Israel in a more vulnerable position on the global stage.
