Dave Workman is a researcher about guns, violence and law abiding citizens stopping criminals with their firearms. Workman is co-author with Alan Gottlieb of the book GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS. He works with the Second Amendment Foundation and sat down with the NOQ Report News Update to discuss the appalling murder of Chicago rapper KTS Dre, (Londre Sylvester) that occurred shortly after his release from the Cook County Jail on Saturday, July 10th as reported by Associated Press.
He was said to have suffered up to 64 bullet wounds. That weekend in Chicago saw a total of 13 killed and 33 wounded. The previous July 4th weekend registered a 2021 record of 104 shootings and 19 fatalities. These crime totals were reported by the Chicago Sun Times.
With topics ranging from Rapper culture, limited magazine capacities, James Bond, outlawing steak knives in the United Kingdom; death by blunt force trauma; Federal Government strike forces and serial murderer Ted Bundy, Workman unloaded a full auto clip on bone headed attempts to restrict the right of good Americans to keep and bear arms.
When asked if these killings in our cities would be reduced were the government to outlaw more guns Dave Workman retorted:
“I’d expect you to ask a question like that of Joe Biden. I think it’s the wrong approach to try to outlaw firearms because you’ve got all of these good people buying firearms, they’ve harmed nobody, they have a right to own and keep a gun in their house, they got a right to bear arms, which in my mind they got a right to carry a firearm outside the home for their personal protection and we’ve got to stop confusing constitutionally protected rights with a government regulated privilege. I dont have to say to anybody, why I want to have a firearm, it’s my right, that’s all I need…it’s right there in the Second Amendment. Trying to take guns away from law abiding people as a way to keep them out of the hands of criminals it’s not just wrong it’s wrong headed.”
Dave Workman’s book GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS consists of scores if not hundreds of anecdotes about lawful citizens taking their personal defense into their own hands and protecting themselves, their loved ones, neighbors and even law enforcement professionals from death or bodily harm including the movie worthy 2012 Peach House shootout in Early, Texas in which citizen Vic Stacy shot at and hit a murderer with his .357 stainless steel six inch barreled Colt Python at over 50 yards helping a police sergeant wielding an AR-15 who was attempting to hit the assailant, armed by a rifle and who was shielded by a tree. Anecdotes like this are proof that good Americans need to keep their weapons unhampered by Federal Government overreach and law breakers should be the sole focus of efforts to reduce shootings.
Chicago’s out of control crime problem has a relatively simple solution which Dave Workman expounds upon succinctly and, suffice to say, it doesn’t involve weekend furloughs from prison, no cash bail and social workers in the patrol car. Allowing law observing citizens to bear arms and targeting felons with illegal weapons assures the public of greater tranquility and less mayhem.
